what to expect in a facial acupuncture treatment
at your first appointment, we will take a full assessment of your medical history and discuss which areas of the face you are concerned about and where you would like to see improvements, and we will explain what we think can help or not, and how many treatments you’ll need. it is usual to have a course of ten (10) treatments either every week or twice a week, with a maintenance follow up treatment every 6 weeks .
your treatment involves inserting very fine needles into specific points on the face and into specific wrinkles and lines. body points will also be used to improve your general constitutional and support the facial acupuncture treatment. the needles will be left in place for about 20-30 minutes.
the treatment overall lasts 60-90 minutes as the insertion and removal of small and fine needles takes time and care
common side effects can include bruising, bleeding, pricking sensation or discomfort when needles are inserted especially in the first treatment
